His training started in the mid-90's in Japan, where he lived for 10 years, as a student of Shiatsu (Japan acupressure). He graduated from the Eastern School of Acupuncture in Montclair, NJ. While he is strongly influenced by the very sophisticated Japanese acupuncture ideas, he also uses Traditional Chinese (TCM), Medical Acupuncture, and Balance Method strategies. Cupping, moxibustion, and electro-acupuncture are all techniques he often applies. Bill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987.
Bill is also very interested in the health benefits of Asian movement and meditation systems such as Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Aikido and practices them often. He earned a 2nd degree black belt in Aikido in Kyoto, Japan in 1999.
Bill also speaks and teaches Japanese.
