Spring 2010
My partner and I are forever reading labels to check out the sodium content of our food. Our bodies do require sodium! The current FDA recommendation is less than 2400mg. But it seems that everything that doesn’t contain an overload of sugar – does contain an overload of salt. One small product serving can often bring you over 25% of that daily limit.

For a quick tour through the world of food sodium content and your health, watch the “Salt-Shockers Slideshow” currently available on webMD.com. After telling where that sodium is hiding out in your breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices, it includes “Better Menu Choices” and “Do’s For Dining Out”. A special word from NJCHL – Don’t forget that a food product can say “all natural”, or even “organic”, and may still contain a hefty amount of sodium.

Qigong Retreat
This workshop will provide students with a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in a day of Qigong with Miriam Shankman. Give yourself the gift of time, space, and the shared energy of practicing with a community of students. Working with the oneness of the energies of mind, body, and spirit, we will experience, develop, and embody this ancient practice. Paradoxically, as each of us personalizes our practice and makes it our own, we merge into non-personal oneness.
